Auckland-based corporate affairs firm, Sherson Willis, has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Lucy Fox as principal and Peter Murray as senior advisor.
Lucy has over a decade of consultancy experience delivering strategic, insight-led communications projects for corporate and consumer clients. She joins Sherson Willis from Thrive PR, where she led the office in New Zealand and built a reputation for promoting and protecting brands, building trust and helping businesses grow. Lucy, who started her career at TVNZ and Sky TV, will work with directors Trish Sherson and Rewa Willis to deliver strategic counsel to clients, maintain the firm’s focus on excellence, and develop a colleague offering that continues to attract world-class talent.
Peter started his career as a political advisor in the government of Tony Blair before becoming head of government affairs at global engineering firm Arup. He was director of communications at Metro Bank, taking it through its public listing on the London Stock Exchange, before leading the corporate affairs teams at two international communication agencies, Cicero Group and Grayling. A trusted advisor to senior business and political figures, Peter is listed in PRWeek’s “Power Book” of the most influential communication professionals and featured in the Financial Times’ Top 100 LGBT Leaders in the City.
Fox is delighted to have joined Sherson Willis, “A firm with a strong reputation for securing successful outcomes for its clients,” she says. “As businesses in New Zealand continue to face unique challenges, I look forward to working with the talented team to help our clients navigate their way to success.”
And Murray is looking forward to bringing his international expertise to the local market. He says, “I’m excited to move from London to take on this role and look forward to engaging with the firm’s clients and accomplished consultants. Sherson Willis delivers world-class strategic counsel and there are some enormous opportunities to expand our offering and add value to even more businesses across New Zealand.”
Sherson Willis Director Rewa Willis says this is a pivotal moment for the business. “We’ve attracted top-tier talent with multidisciplinary expertise and strong leadership capabilities. Lucy’s diverse background and Peter’s international experience will elevate our offering and their insights will be crucial as we continue to deliver strategic communications that drive success for our clients.”
And Director Trish Sherson agrees, “It’s a pleasure to welcome Lucy and Peter to our outstanding Sherson Willis team. It’s great to see us attracting top New Zealand talent like Lucy and a global expert like Peter. Over the last 18 years we have been focused on delivering excellent work for our clients and our team make that possible. We have also broadened our client capabilities and global reach through becoming the New Zealand strategic communications affiliate to international business advisory firm FTI Consulting.
